Epoxy Waterproofer contains 100% solids and is applied from a thin brush application up to a 1/8th inch thick cladding capable of withstanding hydrostatic pressure and stopping radon gas migration in a leaking basement. Cracks and patches can be repaired and made waterproof by adding clean silica sand to Epoxy Waterproofer.
Know the difference between “sealed” and “waterproof”. Epoxy Waterproofer is a specially formulated, heavy bodied, thermo setting, self curing epoxy that hardens to a ceramic like, non-porous, clear, impermeable and waterproof film. This is a 2 part 100% solids epoxy that cures clear or can be pigments to a variety of colors by adding a color pack. Use on interior/exterior foundations, precast concrete tanks, stone, potable water tanks, ponds, waterfalls, pools etc.
Radon is a colorless, odorless, radioactive gas. It forms naturally from the decay of radioactive elements, such as uranium, which are found in different amounts in soil and rock throughout the world. Gases in the soil and rock can move into the air and into underground water and surface water.
Ways radon gas enters home
The image above shows examples of where radon gas can enter into a home. Cracks in the floors or walls are prime areas that gas enters from.
The Chargar Epoxy Waterproofer has been used by major universities to coat walls and floors which have cracks in the masonry surface. The epoxy is applied with a brush in a 15 mil film. As a result, the gas can no longer permeate into the basement. Epoxy Waterproofer is not a breathable coating and will not allow radon gas to pass through it or moisture. Once cured the epoxy can be left as is, it can be painted or hidden with the installation of flooring or carpet. For more information email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 1-800-922-463
